Besides the picture, I think I agree with everything else you wrote in this post which is a first for one of your political posts. 

The Dems blew it big time and everything going on in your personal life is far more important. 

I have a problem with the claim that the majority of Americans support a public option.

The questions were somewhat misleading. Just like many bills are... "Do you want to save pigs?" for example... and you say... "Of course I want to save pigs!!!" Then suddenly there's a massive insane tax that's passed to protect pigs from verbal assaults and a whole government department that gets created to manage it.

I think if they had worded it as saying "Do you want a Single Payer System" which is exactly what the ultimate goal of this whole program is (make no mistake about it), then I guarante it wouldn't be the same results.

What I think you'll find is that AS more and more people started to become knowledgable about what exactly the government option entails, and all the other crap that goes along with it... the support quickly dropped. It is also for that reason why Obama refused to allow CSPAN or any public hearing of the negotiations... he KNEW that when people became wise to exactly what was going on, it would lose support (and that's exactly what's happened).

By the way, you should watch Hardball with Chris Mathews right now. He's tearing into Howard Dean about this very subject. Dean is calling him crazy because he's saying that people were polled and that they support a public option. Mathews is saying... that he's nuts because MA was given the choice between a NO vote and a PUBLIC OPTION vote, and the NO vote won with 30% of the Democrat vote.

People don't just NOT support this bill, they ALSO don't support a public option now that they know exactly what it is that this means. What else has happened since that poll? GM was nationalized, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac was nationalized, other banks were nationalized, jobs continued to be lost, Obama hired at least 20 more czars, he enabled the Cash 4 Clunker's program, he also talked about passing a Cap & Trade tax... eliminating marriage tax credits and halving the child credit because "No one asked for them, and no one needs them..."

As far as I'm concerned, it's self explanitory...

The Republicans had their chance for healthcare and they blew it, too...
