April 18, 2006 , Amazon.com knows me well...too well..
I was working on getting through the pile of boohbah I need to finish over the next few weeks when I realized indirectly there was a book called, "On the Edge: the Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore." I was purchasing a book for work and only needed 5 more dollars to get my free super saver shipping. This book, however, has a hefty price tag of almost $30.00. Not convinced my savings on the shipping would be worth it, I read the customer reviews:
"I'm almost in tears reading this book in all its 561 pages of Commodore-Amiga glory."
"I can't believe how much I enjoyed this book and I don't usually like to read."
From the illiterate, to the Commodore cry babies, everyone enjoyed it. How could I resist? Anywho, back to the topic at hand. I checked out and amazon almost got me. They recommended two guitar books, one songwriting book, and two movies: Killer Tomatoes Strike Back and Amazon Women on the Moon. How do they do it? I do need Amazon women on DVD and I heard there are some bonus features to the collectors edition. I'm not sure what I did in my past purchases to trigger such a movie.
One neat thing you can do on Amazon is look at your entire order history ever. Most of my purchases are political, guitar, or computer nerd books with a sprinkle of Counting Crows CD's here and there. For them to put up Amazon Women on the Moon actually freaks me out a little. I love that movie, I will get the Collector's Edition DVD one day, and I will probably get it from Amazon.
